Hello! My name is Jun Kawashima. I am a licensed acupuncturist. I have over 20 years of experience. I was born in Yokohama and grew up in the US. I have a bachelors degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Cornell and a degree from the Japanese School of Acupuncture and Moxibustion.
I have studied extensively in the field of manual and natural medicine, and I plan to continue studying until I die. My system is always evolving but never complete. There is always something new to learn as in any other field. But to me, the definition of disease is simple.
Disease is a state of lack of energy/love. This is due to stagnation or congestion.
In order to retain health, the energy and fluids in your body must be flowing unobstructed. Bio-electricity must flow through the nerves and energy channels and so must blood, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid, etc. Once the flow resumes, you will regain your balance and your health.
As an acupuncturist and manual therapist, my job is to find out where something is stuck and make things flow again. I use mainly acupuncture and moxibustion to take out energy blockages, but sometimes I also use techniques such as visceral manipulation and cranio-sacral therapy from osteopathic medicine. I may even advise my patients to ingest baking soda if they have cancer. It does not matter which methods I use, as long as the body finds its balance for the healing to take place.
Please contact me if you have any health issues. I treat anything from back pain, colds, internal disorders, to cancer.
